Mindful Confidence

There is time when you wish would feel confident in a situation such as, giving a presentation before senior leaders, interview or performance review. But you are feeling really out of place, lost or nervous.

You can work on yourself and get some sense of relief. This technique is referred as revivification. First shake your body or take few deep breaths. Somehow first, break your state, may be momentarily. Begin to shift your consciousness into your past into a really confident time. It could be anything you did or handled confidently.

With your eyes closed gently relive and revivify the moments when you exhibited confidence. Focus inside your body and become aware and mindful of the, muscle tension and relaxation in different parts of body, notice the physical sensations you feel in your body. Raise your awareness, if you feel, tighter or relaxed, lighter or heavier. Which of the parts feels the most firmed up and tighter that you translate and give meaning to it as confidence? Where does the sensation and energy begin?
Does the sensation or energy rise up faster or slowly?

If, let’s say, the firmness is moving from your chest to your, shoulders, to your neck and head.
Next sense the energy, moving from your stomach to your chest, shoulders, to your neck and head and sense the effect it has on you.

Next sense the energy, moving from your stomach to your chest, shoulders, to your neck and head and moving out of head, sense the effect it has on you.

Next sense the energy, moving from your legs stomach to your chest, shoulders, to your neck and head and moving out of head, and reaching out, sense the effect it has on you

Moment you get a sense that the intensity of the energy and feeling of confidence has become stronger and double than your memory. At this point of time think the way you will respond, behave and act differently in a situation you desire confidence.
